Een wasmiddel zelf maken – is dat moeilijk? Nee hoor, en je bespaart er ook nog eens flink mee. Ideaal voor de bonte was. En heb je een witte was, voeg dan nog een paar scheppen soda toe aan het bakje van de wasmachine.

Nodig
- 1 stuk zeep (Sunlight of Savon de Marseille bijvoorbeeld)
- rasp
- 1 liter kokend water
- grote garde
- 4 liter koud water
- trechter
- lege plastic flessen
Aan de slag
Zet alvast de flessen en de trechter klaar. Rasp de zeep grof. Doe het geraspte mengsel in een emmer en voeg 1 liter kokend water toe. Roer met de garde totdat de zeep is opgelost; dit duurt een paar minuten. Giet er 4 liter koud water bij; roer weer. Vind je het mengsel te dik, voeg dan nog wat koud water toe. Is het wasmiddel klaar, giet het dan over in de klaarstaande flessen.
Gebruik
Giet naar wens een hoeveelheid van het wasmiddel in het bakje van je wasmachine en draai je gewone bonte wasprogramma. Heb je een witte? Voeg dan een paar scheppen toe. Het is gebruikelijk dat het wasmiddel in de loop van de tijd wat indikt.
Make your own detergent (and save many euros)
Making your own detergent – difficult or not? Not at all, and it will save you a lot of money too. Ideal for coloured laundry. And if you have a white wash, add a few spoons of soda to the tub of the washing machine.
What you need
- 1 bar of soap (Sunlight or Savon de Marseille for example)
- grater
- 1 litre of boiling water
- large whisk
- 4 litres of cold water
- large funnel
- empty bottles
Getting started
Prepare the bottles and the funnel. Coarsely grate the soap. Put the grated mixture in a bucket and add 1 litre of boiling water. Stir with the whisk until the soap has dissolved; this takes a few minutes. Pour in 4 litres of cold water; stir again. If the mixture is too thick, add more cold water. When the detergent is ready, pour it into the ready-to-use bottles.
Use
Pour the detergent into the tub of your washing machine, as you wish, and run your regular coloured washing programme. Want to run a white wash? Then add a few spoons of soda.
